The RVA is a national body that works to represent, protect and promote the interests of its members and their associated services.
The principal aim of the RVA is to represent villages with a shared vision for providing quality services. In order to achieve this aim, the association has for some time had a member Code of Practice requiring RVA members to operate their villages in a professional manner and with the highest level of commercial integrity. The Code of Practice is externally audited by designated audit agencies and provides assurance to residents and members that village management is meeting the required standards.
The key areas of work undertaken by the RVA include:
Lobbying and Representation: As the pre-eminent voice on issues impacting on the industry, the RVA is well placed to inform Government on the development of any policy and legislation impacting on the industry.
Annual conference: Held every year, the RVA conference provides an opportunity for village and associate members to network and hear about new innovations in the industry. The conference incorporates a large trade and services exhibition and the AGM.
Information, Education and Publications for Members: The Retirement Views is a quarterly magazine providing news about the sector and targets not only village owners and managers but also associate members, Government officials and stakeholder groups. The RVA holds education seminars, distributes a fortnightly email, has regular regional meetings, and produces other publications for its members.
Bulk Purchasing: The RVA is able to assist members to make commercial savings on a wide range of products and services as a result of our combined membership buying power.
