RVA member villages come into one of two categories – provisional or accredited.

Provisional members are villages that have yet to be audited and include villages under development. We would expect a provisional member to take steps to be audited within a 12 month period of joining the Association, unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Accredited members are villages that have passed their three yearly audit and have an accreditation certificate to show for it. The audits are undertaken by independent qualified auditing agencies at arm’s length from the Association and a comprehensive and confidential report after each audit is provided to the RVA’s Accreditation Committee. The Committee recommends whether a village should receive an accreditation to the Executive Committee, which either endorses or declines the recommendation as appropriate.
